How is the experience?

Excursion Tea Ceremonies are an immersive sensory experience that will connect you to the power of our Mother Earth. By silently gathering to slowly savor tea in our cherished natural environments, we are given the opportunity to fully connect with nature. This practice is an opportunity to explore nature as well as commune with our dear plant teacher, Tea.

Together we will silently hike into a beautiful location taking in the sounds of the birds, wind and our moving feet. Once we arrive at our location I will set up our tea space and at this time I invite you to fully take in the space around you. Observing the landscape, the sounds of the animals and water boiling and the smells.

As the water comes to a boil we begin our tea ceremony, a graceful and gentle offering of plant medicine that allows a deeper connection to the self, nature and those around you. After we have savored many bowls together we will finally open to questions or reflections before silently hiking back. Taking this time to connect with nature through all of our senses brings us deeper into our oneness, our interconnectedness to nature and those around us, awakening our inner knowing that we are Nature.

Rachel is a low waste activist, student of tea and is dedicated to inspiring others to return to their roots and honor their truest nature, that they are nature! She pursued a career as a fashion stylist in New York City for five years before being introduced to the traditional practice of Chinese Tea Ceremony. Since sitting for her first ceremony she has been guided by the spirit of tea. Tea has taken Rachel to Taiwan and moved her across the US from New York to Colorado to study this medicinal plant. Her goal is to give you tools to live a life in deeper communion with yourself, nature and those around you. Currently, you will find Rachel guiding tea ceremonies throughout our Public Lands, adventuring the expansive west. She is based out of Nederland, Colorado and available for travel.

What are people saying?

The experience of sharing tea in nature was healing and grounding. I was able to connect with nature and myself with heightened appreciation and joy - through the pouring of tea, the sounds of nature and the silent, sacred contained facilitated by Rachel.
Ellie

I've never experienced something so pure and meditative. Each time the glass was filled my mind drifted to one thought, then it vanished by the time the glass was finished. Enjoying life's simple pleasures and meditating never came so easy until I started drinking tea with Rachel.
Megan

This was a beautiful and unique experience with Rachel. My first time having a tea ceremony, and I love it. I definitely recommend this experience and hope you enjoy as much as I did.
Katie

Rachel was so friendly and brought her own experiences to the tea ceremony. She found the perfect spot for an amazing, peaceful morning!
Matt

Josh

What a lovely way to spend a morning in Boulder! The tea ceremony was delightful, the spot was wonderfully peaceful, and Rachel was very sweet and welcoming. If the idea of forest bathing + tea intrigues you, go ahead and do it.
Julia

This experience was so much fun and definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity in the Colorado mountains! Rachel is super friendly and made the whole experience super relaxing and comfortable. I would do it again!
Sam

This experience was so lovely, both because of the location (forest, but easily accessible from Boulder proper) and because Rachel is such a calm, kind person. I so appreciated the quiet space for the ceremony itself, for me to let go of all the stresses of the week. But I also enjoyed talking with Rachel afterward and connecting with her. If you need a real break from your busy life, I highly recommend this experience. I left feeling so much calmer, grounded, and revived.
